Leadership in democracy …
In a general
explanation, the Western Democracy
guarantee in the constitution values of the society
such : 1.-freedom of personal movement, of a speech and free vote of government
representatives; 2. -physical and material protection of every person of
society and of a family development; 3.- protect human rights regardless of
political, religious, sex , race and skin color differences; 4.- protection of
working ethics ;
The ruling power in a democratic society should represent the philosophy of the majority .
Societies in different
geographical areas have a different experiences in a social, historical
and technical development. Therefore, as
humanity evolves, even democratic societies are basically different in their judgment of good and evil, ethics,
morals, culture, and such.
Democracies require from the leadership to act according to expectations
of the majority. Regional or world crises move a society to an
action. Leaders must have a vision and a moral platform which they use to shape
the society during the action. Any decision for action must take into account
concerns for protection of human lives and nations properties. But the history shows, that some leaders acted
in their personal views for short term gain, without the ideological stability.
Such historical decisions reversed the clock of nation’s social development.
Only a strong dynamic leadership will create a united
national ideology necessary in a
process to the nation maturity. Economic comfort in a society is only
stabilization of the progress,
very often neglecting human aspects. The stagnation or loss of the spiritual
support will inevitably lead to a system deterioration and to economic and
political conflicts. In such circumstances, the civilized society should have
in place a legal vehicle to discharge unfit political members from
parliament. This power should be in
hands of a non political Advisory
Board ( former senate ), elected for
each level of government and composed from the top experts of various professional associations. Their
knowledge of a grass-roots thinking will make them responsible for all parliamentary activities
including the suspension of legislators for moral corruption.
The question will
remain : How can the
nation mature as
a civilized democratic
society without internal
conflicts or even
revolution ?….. How should other
nations be involved
in such conflict ? ….. Is globalization proper
process ? ……Who formulates the
proper ideology ?….Why is
it that economical
prosperity cannot last ?
